Fat Cat Ornaments

I found these three fat cat ornaments, 
a few years ago now,

it was at a pop-up Christmas store 
that was gone by January.
I saw them hanging there,
 just begging to come home with me.

Here's the gray tabby fat cat ornament.

They look so cuddly just hanging around. 

 But yet clueless with little 
pink tongues sticking out.

Here's the yellow fat cat ornament.

They cause me to laugh when I look at them.

I just love their short little legs.

Here's the calico fat cat ornament.

Like funny parade balloons full of hot air,

with such sweet faces.

Cher doesn't like cats.

But she tolerates the ones on the tree.

because, it's time to get things started!
It's time to light the lights!

It's time the other reindeer,

Radko reindeer salt and pepper shakers,

welcome a new reindeer here tonight!

The Radko "Deer Friends" Candy Jar

to be exact!

Based on an early Rudolf tea set.

Found on Ebay at a great price and

presented as a Christmas gift 

from Samantha.

Rudolf now has a place of honor

on the top shelf of the hutch!

Although I admit, he is oddly shaped,

I fell for his cute little face 

and his gold bells immediately.

He makes a great addition to 

the Ozark Christmas Collection!

Third Time's A Charm

This is the third year that I'm attempting 

to perfect my Christmas tablescape.

Thanks to my Blogger friends for all

the great suggestions.

Comments are always welcome!

Here and here are the last two years.

This year I have added a few special items that add 

a little eye candy and sparkle to the table

as well as a little candy itself!

Last year I was fortunate to find these charming

little reindeer salt and pepper shakers

at Pottery Barn...

Galloping Reindeer Salt & Pepper Shakers-Reg. $30

It was after Christmas and for only a day

PB listed them online for just $6.99!!!

Read here how I snatched them up right away.

I think they definitely compliment my big 

PB reindeer cookie jar centerpiece, 

and add some sparkle with that silver stand.

Did you notice the cookie snowflake

ornaments hanging above the table?

They were an after Christmas find at Kmart.

I want to believe they sort of tie together

the whole cookie jar centerpiece theme.

They sure do look tasty.

Speaking of tasty, while I was strolling through 

the candy isle this month,

I noticed how the Christmas Rolos

were sort of the colors of plaid.

I reckoned they would look charming 

near last year's Carson plaid plate additions, 

and add a nice sparkle.

Again a favorite tradition is including 

Bobs Sweet Stripes Soft Peppermint Sticks 

with their festive red stripes.

New this year 

is a short apothecary jar from Michaels,

I filled it with Harry & David 

"Mondo Milk Chocolate Maltballs".

They were a gift from my mom, 

from my trip to Virginia HERE.

Another Kmart find are these charming little 

plaid bird house ornaments.

One has a green roof,

and around back,

one has a red roof and 

the plaid works perfectly with the scape.

So you see after many additions the 

tablescape takes on a sweet Christmas charm.

And a little Christmas sparkle!

The Nickel Tour of Christmas Around the Living Room

We begin our tour with this yummy little candy dish

on the console table behind the couch!

I just want to eat him up he looks so sweet.

 He's the Dept 56 "Hot Cocoa Snowman" candy jar.

I got him a few years ago, when I was on a search for 

a Christmas candy dish...now I have lots!
As we zoom out I spy...

 Cher on the back of the couch!

She's enjoying a rest and wondering who
I'm talking to.

A little tilt up and we see the large mirror 

decked with boughs of holly and eucalyptus.

I got the little wooden animal garland at Pier One

years ago now.  I like it because it goes well

with my India inspired theme in here with its elephants

and camels(?) and donkeys(?).

As we pan right,

 check out the huge faux poinsettia bush!

I used to put them around a fake ficus tree 

every year till Sam threw it out.

It was her idea to stick them in the elephant vase,

and I must say....I like her thinking!

Continue panning right and we see the 

merry group on top of the curio.

The bear is from JC Penney and the 

solider is a stacked candy container we found

at Sam's Club last year.  He's empty now

but I liked his scale more than his candy. 

Tilting down, inside the curio we catch a glimpse 

of the "Amusements Retro Robots" 

Christmas ornaments.

I found them at Hobby Lobby last year.  

Very steam punk.

The next shelf down we find the jolly little 

get one at Victorian Trading Company

retro snowman bubble light by Bruce Elsass' 

The Hobgoblins Collection for Bethany Lowe. 

Based on a plastic light from the 1950s.

Next to him I put a big red bow on

The Fitz and Floyd "Exotic Jungle"

 tiger lidded box.

Out of the curio and a little further right

 is the poinsettia garland strung across the tapestry.

The ornaments are hand blown glass,

from Pier One four years ago.

Just below the tapestry are new Christmas stems 

Sam and I found at Hobby Lobby this week.  

Not sure what they are, maybe Bayberry

stems or white Christmas berry stems.

We needed something for that vase

and I didn't want more poinsettias.

Also sound asleep in front is the Fitz and Floyd

"Old Fashion Santa" candy jar.

On this side of the room a beautiful tiger is

staring at a beautiful tiger on the

wall across the room...

The "Le Tigre Royal" print by Paul Jouve,

a JC Penney find back in 1999,

is festooned with more

holly and eucalyptus garland and

glass icicles, giving it an air of merriment.
