Snowman Candy Dish

I just procured another Mackenzie-Childs
collectable!
The Nostalgia Snowman Candy Dish.
It was exclusively at Neiman Marcus.
Pictured here with its base on
backwards for some reason.
Here's the base in
the correct direction
Very pricey at $98, which is not
unusual for Neiman Marcus, but
I think it is the
Mackenzie-Childs retail price.
They didn't have many in the store
and I didn't want to miss getting one.
It is very charming and of excellent quality,
 and will look right at
home in the Ozark Christmas collection.
Mackenzie-Childs has a whole
Nostalgia Snowman line.
There's a mug at $42

A beautiful cookie jar at $228!!!!
Much too expense for my budget,

but it was love at first sight!
The Snowman S&P shakers are adorable,
they're $48, which is reasonable.
I already have snowman shakers,
and enough Christmas shakers to boot.

But that's not all!
They released a soap pump, a snow globe,
a top hat taper holder, and a cake stand.
They also have a giant
Nostalgia Snowman Trophy Figure
for the porch outside for $895
get one here
for that price, I don't recommend
putting it outside.

Last Christmas, my parents gave me these
Mackenzie-Childs salt and pepper shakers.
Called the Checkmate Duo
they are designed to look like chess pieces.
I displayed them right on my hutch buffet.
I just adore Mr. Snowman's
monocle and mustache,
very creative!
I'd never seen a snowman
with a mustache before
and just had to have it.
All this fuss started because
Sam gave me my first
Mackenzie-Childs collectable
last Christmas.
The Candy Cottage Cupcake lidded box.
read about it here
I was so impressed with the detail
and quality, I immediately started searching
for other Mackenzie -Childs collectables.
Maybe it's time to start looking at
their collectibles for other holidays.

Thanks for stopping by

A Wooden Bead Chandelier

We liked our stained glass light hanging
over our kitchen table.
I, however, was a bit disappointed that I
couldn't decorate it like the fancy chandeliers
found in many decorating blogs.
I found it at BEST back in the late 90's
so I felt maybe it was time for an update.
I had my eye on those wooden bead
chandeliers for some time.
Here's one I liked while Sam and I visited
North Carolina, and toured a few shops
with her son and daughter-in-law.
It was pricey and only had four lights,
plus it may have been a tad too long.
So I kept looking.
One day I was flipping through Houzz
on my phone and came across this one...
It has wooden beads, six lights, wasn't too big,
and the best part, it was on sale for only $51.00!!
I showed Sam and we ordered it posthaste!
It must have been a mismark because
it went up in price right after we bought it,
and has never been that low again!
I installed it as soon as it arrived.
It is a very nice light, I ordered
the "Rustic" version to blend
with the country theme.
The beads make it seem
modern and stylish and I can't wait
to decorate it for the holidays.
There is one thing I miss though,
it doesn't shine light directly on our
table like our stained glass one did.
But it does light up the room
more than ever before.
I guess that's the compromise.
I'll just have to get used to darker food!
I just noticed little Lena peeking in
the back door in the above picture!
She's thinking, "Hurry with the picture
then let me in."

A New Pooch & Easter 2022

The newest member of our family
Lena,
named after singer Lena Horne
Our dog Cher passed away in February
and we couldn't stand the emptiness.
Sam went to the SPCA on a day off
in March and came home with Lena!!

All I got was one text at work from her
with a picture.
"What do you think of this one?"
I texted back "I love it"
Lena (At that time Stormy) came home
with her that visit!
It's been love ever since.
She's a little sweetheart,
and she brings back a
tremendous amount of life
to our house!

A little Easter decorating
and a visit from the Bunny!

I got a hippo Tiki mug from the bunny
The grandkids got some baskets
filled with goodies,

and an egg hunt!

Sam and I went to South Point that evening
for our Easter dinner!

Thanks for hopping by!
Hope everyone had a
happy and safe Easter!
